Picking up the mantel of our friend from Barcelona Art is Tra$h, TAG will introduce a heritage angle on putting out the rubbish. Sharing the wall with Pajaro's playful stampede is a large commercial Veolia trash bin. We asked their permission to decorate it. They asked "With what?". Our response "With Arts & Crafts wallpaper".
Specifically, we will access the vaults of one of the nineteenth centuries most influential designers - William Morris, and apply his famed Golden Lily design to both wall and bin, in the process camouflaging the form of the four-wheeled recycler with a wallpaper design originally created in 1899.
Having secured permission, this 2014 project will be funded by the Community First initiative.
